Le Pantheon
The Pantheon The most spectacular aspect is the size of the Pantheon. On the ground floor, in the form of a cross, it has a length of 110 m (352 ft) and a breadth of 85 m (272 ft.). Eiffel Tower
Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower was originally only created to participate to a Universal Art Exhibition competition in 1889. It was built by Gustave Alexandre Eiffel, an engineer who had experience in constructing high-level railway viaducts. The Eiffel Tower won the competition but was supposed to be destroyed (unbuilt) after the exhibition.

Arc de Triomphe
It was not until the year 1730, when five streets radiated out from the Etoile de Chaillotthat this area started to receive much more attention. In 1758, there were several plans being drawn up to decide what was to to built in this particular location. A bizarre proposal was a gigantic elephant housing ballrooms and a theater in the midst of the square. However, the plans appeared a bit too ambitious and Napoleon Bonaparte had other ideas, he built a monument for the glorification of his Grande Armée, a triumphal arch in classical style - the Arc de Triomphe.
